The family of one of the double murder victims asked Commissioner Melinda Ysasi why Grand Rapids can’t have more police in their neighborhood.

She tells them increased policing would not have saved their child.

“I don’t believe that if a police officer were down the block that would have prevented that shooting from happening and I think that’s hard to hear.”
