Calamity War 10k years ago and the sealing of Ganon questions

I'm kinda confused about exactly how far back Zelda traveled during TOTK. For some reason, I was under the impression it was 10k years, but the Calamity War the Sheikah tech won was also that far back. If they are one and the same, then what was the point of the Divine Beasts and all that Sheikah tech? If they are separate, then that means that Calamity Ganon wreaked havoc some significant amount of time after Ganon was sealed but 10k years before 100 years before BOW, and was beaten by the Sheikah. That makes the most sense, however, it leads to another problem. Apparently, Calamity Ganon becoming active and destroying parts of Hyrule Castle 100 years before BOTW is what caused Rauru's seal to weaken to the point Gloom was leaking out, which inevitably led to him breaking free. If Calamity Ganon is what caused the seal to weaken, then shouldn't it have happened 10k years ago during the first Calamity War?

I'd just like some clarity on the subject cuz it feels like I'm missing something obvious, but I haven't been able to figure out what.

How is Borderlands 4 objectively? Also, my thoughts on how BL2 negatively affected the future of the series permanently

I've seen a LOT of negative reviews on Steam, but I want everyone's genuine objective opinion on Borderlands 4. Tons of people hated on the third game for everything but the gameplay when it first came out as well, pretty much because it wasn't BL2. Gearbox struck Eridium with the second game, and because of that, everyone compares every piece of new content in the series to it. What happened with BL2 was a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence for a developer, and they will almost certainly never be able to make another Borderlands game as good as BL2, and will never be able to make DLC as good as BL2's DLC.

Imo, BL3 should be the basis for comparison with future Bordselands games purely because it's obvious that the series will never be as good as BL2, so it's pointless to compare to it. I haven't gotten to play the BL3 DLCs because I just haven't had the time, but from what I've read they were average. Some people absolutely hated them, others absolutely loved them and said they reminded them of BL2, and others said they were just average. I personally loved the base game of BL3, even the story and villains. Obviously the story isn't as good as BL2, and Handsome Jack will never be beat as a Borderlands antagonist, but imo if you don't compare it to BL2 it's great, and if you do compare the two, it's just pretty good. It seems like for most people it was average, to me that makes BL3 the perfect benchmark for the rest of the series.

Skip the paragraph after this one if you don't want to read my rant about Troy and Tyrene; I just feel like nobody acknowledges how cool their concept and, a fair bit less cool, their execution is. The next paragraph has almost nothing to do with the post, but it *is* a great example of how BL2 permanently raised people's expectations for Borderlands' stories and especially antagonists way too high.

So many people hated Tyrene and Troy as antagonists, and hated the story in general, but I thought they were pretty damn good. Fraternal conjoined twins; one, a Siren born with the Leech ability, the other, parasitic and ironically "leeched" like 20% of the Siren abilities permanently limiting the others power and requiring sustenance from them their entire life after separation. They then spent their entire lives stuck on an extinct alien race's homeworld with only their father as company because he was afraid of what they might do with their power. All the while being fed stories of adventure and Vaults. That led to the twins believing they were chosen by the universe to open "The Great Vault" and leech the power within to become living gods, eventually acquiring a massive cult following via internet influencing. That's an *awesome* premise, and maybe some of the characterization wasn't perfect in practice, but I found them quite interesting. I especially loved the way Tyrene acts like a typical influencer with everything she says and does, even during brutal killings and telling her followers to kill people. I also *really* loved the dynamic between Tyrene and Troy once Troy got some actual power. Spending his entire life in the shadow of his sister, literally having to leech off of her to live, his formation in the womb permanently limiting her abilities and forcing her to sustain him with her own life force. Then he finally gets some actual power of his own and completely uproots the status quo between them.

With that said, I'd like to get everyone's objective opinions on how good of a game BL4 is. I'd also like opinions on the DLC, though almost every single Steam review I read said it was a steaming pile of shit. I find it hard to believe it's actually *that* bad, but that's why I'm making this post; to see if somehow Gearbox actually managed to fumble the bag that much.

Why did Snape tell Malfoy to shoot a snake at Harry in CoS if he was gonna immediately get rid of it?

In Chamber of Secrets, during the Dueling Club, Harry and Malfoy are supposed to be demonstrating blocking spells. I'm assuming Malfoy was supposed to be launching a spell, and Harry was supposed to block because Snape didn't teach Malfoy how to do it. Lockhart tried to teach Harry, dropped his wand, and then told Harry "do what I did" and left. Snape then whispered something into Malfoy's ear and immediately after, Malfoy launches a snake. Snape then goes to get rid of it, Lockhart intervenes and launches the snake upwards, angering it with Justin being the closest person to be angry at. Then Harry speaks Parseltounge to save Justin, and Snape actually gets rid of it.

What I'm confused about is: why did Snape tell Malfoy to launch a snake? It wouldn't have been particularly effective in the duel unless he managed to send it onto Harry with the initial cast, which he couldn't. Harry could've just Wingardium Leviosa-ed the snake back at Malfoy, or somewhere out of the way, or gotten rid of it some other way. If Snape wanted Malfoy to humiliate Harry by making him scared, why did he go to step in immediately after the snake hit the ground? Harry didn't even get to be scared, other than being a bit shocked that a snake just landed between him and Malfoy, which is far from humiliating. Unless Snape thought Malfoy telling people that Harry needed Snape to protect him would humiliate him, even though an entire room of people would have seen that Harry didn't get a chance to deal with it. If that was his plan, that seems extremely petty and stupid, even for Snape.

I just can't figure out why he'd have Malfoy send a snake out just to immediately get rid of it, so does anyone else have an idea why?

Are there any Aniwave sites that are safe?

I recently looked through the Yuzono Aniyomi extension repo, and I found that it has an Aniwave (Unofficial) extension. I wouldn't expect them to add it if it weren't safe. The issue is that I have no idea which site is being scraped by the extension, so I can't find out which one is trusted by them. I'd very rarely use it because I use Stremio 99% of the time, but in cases when RD goes down, I'd like to have another option without having to watch anime on my phone.

Aniwave was by far the best site out there, and it broke my heart when I found out it had been taken down. I just want to be able to have them as a backup again, even if it's not the original.

Also, now that I think about it, if anyone can recommend a site, would it be safe to make an account? The original Aniwave had the ability to connect with your Anilist (and maybe MAL I can't remember) to save progress, add things to your list, and other such things. Even though I'd rarely use it, I'd like to not have to remember to update my Anilist manually considering my Stremio is linked to it and I never have to normally. Anyways, I know they're all technically unofficial clones, but I feel like just because it's a clone doesn't mean it's inherently unsafe considering the original died years ago now.

Call Back lyrics confusion

Call Back is one of my favorite songs by Don, and one of my favorite songs in general atm. However, I'm hella confused about a line of lyrics in the verse of Call Back.

According to both Genius and Spotify's lyrics (via Musixmatch), the lyrics are: "I said shake somethin', bust somethin' for a real nigga". I can't for the life of me figure out how that can possibly be what the lyrics are. To me it sounds like "I said shake sum, buss sum, for real me", which makes no sense. Maybe that last word could be nigga, but at most I only hear "nii". If it's nii, does he mean like, (pls forgive me) nii-chan?? Is he telling his big bro to shake sum and buss sum?? If it's nigga, is he telling a random other nigga to shake sum and buss sum?? Neither situation paints Don in a great light lmao, esp combined with that feet line💀

Aaaanyways, enough about questioning Don's freakiness. The "official" lyrics are 13 syllables, but there seems to only actually be 9. Even with a fair amount of blending, I don't see how anyone could cram specifically those words into 9 syllables. It's extra frustrating cuz it's one of my favorite songs atm, maybe my fav Don song in general, and it's been stuck in my head for like a month now. I wanna get the lyrics down so bad but they're making it really fuckin' hard to figure out. Does anyone know what the hell is going on here😭

Also I sincerely apologize for all the n-words, but just wouldn't have seemed right to censor them and type "is he telling an n-word to..." Also apologize for the "Don The Freak" theorizing, I couldn't help myself.

Any idea when the next version will be released?

I used the beta that included MPV player a little while ago, but then reverted back to 1.9.12 because it was too buggy, even using ExoPlayer. Does anyone know how close that version is to release? It's been quite awhile since the last update. I also *really* liked the new settings UI, so I'm looking forward to that too.

Will there ever be more Magnus Chase books? [MC]

I just finished the Ship of The Dead, and the last bit made me very curious. It's been almost a decade since it came out, but I feel like there has to be more at some point given that last page. Magnus said at some point he'd have to visit Helheim to see his family, stating that Hel had said he'd see his mom again someday. I haven't read 9 From The Nine Worlds, but I doubt that's covered in those short-stories considering how important it seems.

Also, sidenote, what Magnus did with Randolph's mansion at the end made me tear up. That might've been the most philanthropic ending I've ever read. It just felt so, perfect, and made me so happy.

How to remove "Essential Voice" underneath my keyboard?

I recently updated to NOS 4.1, and I'm enjoying it so far, but unfortunately, there's one major issue. They removed the button that hides the keyboard, and replaced it with a shitty AI voice typing button. I wouldn't have a gripe with this because I could see it being genuinely useful, but the fact that it replaced the "hide keyboard" button WHEN THERE'S ALREADY A VOICE TYPING BUTTON ON THE KEYBOARD pisses me off. Now, I'm pretty sure it can be used to translate from other languages or something like that, so I can see how it'd be useful. Unfortunately, I can't find any settings for it, any option to remove it, nothing that even explains what the difference is from the normal voice typing.

Currently, the only way for me to hide my keyboard is to use the "back" gesture. That works most of the time, but occasionally it'll hide the keyboard and do it's normal function. I also find myself accidentally hitting the Voice option out of habit, which hasn't been an issue yet, but I could definitely see my typing being messed up because of someone else's voice in the same room.

I'll start this by saying, I haven't actually played the game. I know, I know. I absolutely plan to play the game in full when I can, but because I don't have very much time, I ended up experiencing the game through Qwibbz's most recent video. He makes videos that explain the story of games (exclusively FromSoft games up until this one) in the same way that you'd uncover them as you play. He also explains the gameplay details of every area and boss, so you understand more than just the story. He starts the video with an introduction to the world, explaining some history but nothing very specific, with everything else being given as the player would discover it throughout their playthrough. Because of this, his videos feel extremely organic, and you end up getting the story almost exactly as you would if you'd played the game for yourself blind. Now, enough glaze, that was just to explain how I've experienced the amazing world and story of Lies of P.

When I got to the Rose Estate portion, I was expecting to see some pretty heavy stuff, especially after listening to the audio tapes left by Arlecchino. Even still, I was not ready. I have no idea why, but the "sculpture" created by Arlecchino in the entrance to the Estate, gave me such a horrendous feeling. Usually I'm totally fine with dark, gritty, and gruesome imagery, but something about the proportions made it extremely hard to look at even for me. For a few minutes, I thought the sculpture was made from Romeo's actual mutilated corpse. I thought his arms had been horrifically stretched into that position, and I think that's why I had such a visceral reaction. But even after realizing it was only the arms that were actually Romeo's, it still made me feel grossed out in a way that I don't think any other "body horror" has. It wasn't just that either, the rest of the Rose Estate containing the non-hostile Carcases and other remnants of what happened to those poor children gave me a feeling that very very few "dark" media has. All of this I felt so strongly, even though I was watching it through a (very well done, but even still) YouTube video. Playing through it myself would be even worse.

Did anyone else get this feeling? What is it about Overture that made the depictions so goddamn effective even against someone like me who is usually unphased by dark, grotesque imagery?

I have an issue that's been happening for a long time over numerous versions. I never made a post about it because it doesn't happen very often, maybe once every other episode, if that, but I figured I'd finally get around to it.

I'm on a FireTV and using one of the recent beta versions, but this issue has been occuring for quite a long time, so the version is irrelevant. It also happens regardless of what player I'm using, even on the new integrated MPV player of the beta I'm running, so that's not part of the problem either.

For some reason, sometimes (but not all the time) when there's complex animation on screen, it becomes almost pixilated. The most recent example I can think of is on Chainsaw Man when Makima is tucking in the back of her shirt. It's animated with impressive accuracy to the wrinkles and folds of the shirt as it's tucked in; moving and unfolding as the process occurs. The issue reminds me of screen tearing, but slightly different. It distorts in the entire area of the screen that's displaying the complex animation instead of just a line like screen tearing. It happens when watching anime, but I'm assuming it happens in other animation as well, and maybe live-action but I can't remember that being the case. It also doesn't always happen when there's complex animation, only sometimes. It's not a bitrate issue because I watch 10bit streams almost exclusively, and this doesn't look at all like a low bitrate. Most of the time the animation is smooth and looks great as intended, but at seemingly random times the above issue occurs. Does anyone know what the issue is called and/or how to fix it?

I was thinking about how the Riordanverse connects after listening to the first Demigods and Magicians short story. After a while, I started to wonder, what would've happened to the Greco-Romans if Apophis had destroyed Ma'at? What would've happened to the Egyptians if Gaia had won against the Greco-Romans? I haven't gotten to the Magnus Chase books yet so that one didn't cross my mind till now.

It got me curious about how severe a cataclysm has to be for other pantheons to step in and help another. Do they really trust each other enough to deal with world-ending threats by themselves?
