So, I am no artist. But I want my creatures to appear how they do in my head. 3 out of 5 are ok-ish.

The wolf/bear and the goat are giving me problems. They become armoured with blunt force damage, the goat with stone and the wolf with metal ore (there are iron, copper, gold types etc) not being an artist, I have no idea how to show that.

Simple pencil in paper sketches by me.

What instantly makes you trust a dark fantasy/romantasy author?

Hello 👋

Brand new author, setting up my communities across all platforms. Thanks for having me 🖤

As the title says, what makes you trust an author? What makes you return or stick to a series? I know this isnt a writing question as such, but i hope it's still OK.

I have thought about it and world building, emotional tension before romance keep me hooked. If I cant submerge myself into a fully developed world, feel the characters emotions, then I struggle to connect with the book and so, also the author.

Curious what other readers look for immediately when trying a new series? Also, what immediately puts you off?

For me it’s atmosphere, world building and emotional tension before romance. If I cant submerge myself into a fully developed world, feel the characters emotions, then I struggle to connect with the book and so, also the author.
