Hi. We recently moved into and are renovating a 1970s house. Its served by FTTC and I don't believe there is a duct to the house. The cable is probably under a concrete drive. Because of the expected poor speeds we went with Virgin Media broadband. Openreach are apparently building the full fibre network in our area.
My question is about the positioning of the ONT and how they would get the fibre cable to my house? The OR website states that they will place the ONT where the existing master socket is but that's where we are building a downstairs toilet and I think it would be difficult for them to get the cable there because of the drive.
The VM cable runs down the other side of the garden and I had the guy pull it in under the kitchen into the lounge. We are planning on redoing the front garden and after this I wouldn't really want it dug up. Would OR be happy if I put a duct in the front garden for them to follow the same route as the VM cable?
