moving mid-hs from ontario to new jersey

hi! i’m in ontario (grade 10 rn) and my mom is potentially getting a job transfer, meaning we would have to move to new jersey. kinda unfortunate for me, my plan has always been to go to a canadian university. also super worried about how i’ll survive socially

does anyone have any advice regarding the us school system? specifically, how do honors and ap classes work? i’ve heard people say you have to take honors in grade 9 and 10 to take it in the other years, but i never had that option (i am in the gifted program though if that helps) ALSO any general advice about the differences between it and ontario school would help me a ton :,)

i’m also a bit scared about my credits transferring lmao. apparently new jersey needs 120 to graduate, HOW does that work

also if anyone has any tips about moving schools or just about living in new jersey (i think it would be south jersey but not sure) in general it would be very appreciated!!
