Plushie Trends- What are you seeing?

Hello!

I was going through patterns the other day and thinking about the different styles of teddy bears over the decades. Plushies as a whole have changed a ton in the last decade.

I used to see more realistic plush in stores (90s I think?), where as today we see more specific characters and a wide range of styles. Even the material changes! I feel like the mochi minky is really popular in stores at the moment.

With that in mind, what are you all seeing? How does it affect your plush making (if at all)? Do you feel like you see the same kinds of requests for customs?

I guess I‘m just looking to discuss all kinds of these plush making things with other plush makers, haha.

I have a Gir that I can’t ID

I got them from hot topic in 2003/4 at separate times. The one on the right was newer and obviously adorable so I had to have him. But I can’t find any other photos of this version on line. The tag says Viacom etc

My microwaveable buddy is home!

I preordered this raptor some time ago and today was the magic day!
I’m really impressed with how easily it heats! And it’s so soft. I’ll probably get some sort of shirt for him to be safe, because I’m already carrying him everywhere.
And the weight is nice, though I don’t have anything to compare that too. It helps him drape and sit in the cutest ways!
It doesn’t have any in the head or limbs, just body and tail. The tail seems to have its own little section toward the end to lend some weight which is nice.

I also finally got my sharkitty in, so of course they had to meet.

Oh boy, I’m rambling. I just got so excited!
Did anyone else get one of these awesome guys?

I’ll try to keep this brief and to the point.

When I first spoke with my divorce attorney to see if they were a good fit they said the hourly rate was $550 and he retainer was 35k . When I got the contract it said hourly was $650, I mentioned it and received a “sorry for any confusion”. Fine, they otherwise seemed like a good fit and were specialized in high conflict divorce, so I continued anyway.

There have been two video calls that they missed and on the second after an hour I emailed to ask if I misremembered (I hadn’t- meeting notes were event sent to lawyer) and again they said “sorry for any confusion” but it was some other date/time.

My case has been going on for two years and this is my second attorney (almost 6 months with current attorney) since the first was making no progress and my ex has been spending EVERYTHING and neglecting our joint property.

Recently we were able to at least make progress on the property and found a realtor. A new quote for repairs was provided and it has more than doubled some repair costs from a price quote my ex received two years ago but decided not to follow through on.

I updated my attorney and expressed frustration with my ex’s choices. I said I worry that they are essentially trying to “burn it all down” out of spite (which is what I was trying to further avoid by hiring a new attorney). My attorney’s response was “I understand your frustrations but those need to be addressed with a therapist. I cannot and will not comment on them.”

Was I wrong for assuming that details about how he has handled shared assets would be important?

I tried to keep this short and to the point, so if I need to elaborate anywhere I'll do my best.
