Ideas for a simple VtM tabletop game

Hello everyone, I've been a TTRPG player for 15 years, mainly D&D and adjacent.

I only played VtM tabletop a few times, and I was part of an ongoing VtM LARP for 6 years. I only know lore at a surface level because WoD is more fun when you don't know everything.

Now my friends that never played VtM before wants to try playing a Vampire game and I'd like to give GM'ing a try, however I only ran one prewritten D&D campaign. I can improvise in D&D easily but VtM has such a rich deep lore that I am confused.

Also I am from Turkey, and our games have had unique Cainite politics (different than European or North American) reflecting Turkey's multicultural history. Like using Sultan or Şehzade (Sultan's son) instead of Prince, or Camarilla/Sabbat/Anarch not being limited to certain clans.

I am planning to make characters Camarilla fledglings, they'll be allowed to pick base clans only, V20 system because that's all I know. I created some NPCs in Elysium and gave them some characteristic traits related to Cainite and IRL politics, wrote down most populated districts of Istanbul and some important details (influence, major clan/sect, mortals). Year is in 2020s.

I will also ask my PCs to give me their character ideas, backgrounds and people they know (mentor and/or Sire) so I can use them as NPCs and tie the characters to the story.

As the big plot I decided to pick Hunter/Inquisition as a threat, but of course Cainite sects can't even unite against a common enemy.

So... How do I run a "simple" VtM game, like for 3-4 sessions? I am genuinely blanking and I am kinda afraid of disappointing my friends, even though I know they would always support me. I just want them to have fun tbh. This game won't be able to go on for years. We are likely just going to sandbox this until I move out of the country. But I don't even know how to create this sandbox or where to kickstart.

I was thinking of giving PCs a task to investigate a series of mysterious murders in nightlife scene, particularly in places where old Cainites don't hang out (so they send the fledglings). I thought this would be a nice start.

Any pointers are appreciated.

Random side effects of acetazolamide

I already know the common side effects of acetazolamide, I'd like to know;

  1. What side effects have you been experiencing or have experienced the most?

  2. Do side effects wary by day or time?

  3. How long have you been using the medicine and dosage?

I've been using it for 2 weeks 750mg/day. My symptoms feel so random and inconsistent. It's like my body picks a random side effect every time I take the pill;

- Diarrhea

- Needles in my feet

- Stomachache (or abdomen area)

- Lethargic/sleepy

- Medicated/drunk/cheerful

I also developed tinnitus that is very annoying when it's silent. Living in a city is helpful though, city sounds suppress the tinnitus. Thankfully no allergies or nausea.

I also lost appetite, I am eating way less. I try to eat 1 or 2 banana per day, and half an avocado with eggs to help with potassium.

Is anyone else having a similar experience? Just random side effects.

Recently diagnosed with IIH by my neurologist. I had a series of tests and then lumbar puncture. Stayed in the hospital, then rested flat for a couple of days. No back pain after a night.

She wanted me to start a high dosage of acetazolamide, then ordered me to stop taking it because of my headaches. I will continue the medicine after my headaches are gone completely (doctor's orders).

1 week later I am still having intense headaches if I stand up for longer than half an hour. I can go to bathroom, take a shower etc without a problem as long as I lay down shortly after.

I am lying down and resting 90% of the time. Yet my health is barely improving. I reported this to my neuro, and she told me to keep resting.

Has anyone had a recovery period lasting a few weeks? I don't know if I should ask for a blood patch? I don't like telling doctors what to do...
