Season 1(Fall semester) included Beau and Deans birthday and Thanksgiving. I’ve been thinking about what holidays Season 2 would include. I think maybe Season 2 might start off including a little of winter break to give more backstory on Allie and Deans families. I also think Season 2 will include a Valentines Day episode (maybe when Allie and Dean will realize they are not done with each other or when they will confess having feelings) and Spring Break. What do others think?

With s2 production starting today, I’ve been thinking about potential theories/predictions for s2, now confirmed to have Dean and Allie as primary couple. I think similar to s1, where the musical showcase was part of Hannah’s emotional journey and arc, I think in s2, Philippa Soo has been cast as an artistic director that is going to put on an original play. I think Allie will be cast in the play and the play with have some kind of theme about being true to yourself, or dealing with the messiness of life, meanings of love, something that will coincide with Allie’s emotional arc during the season.

I am curious to see who they cast as Allie’s dad and hopefully this season will involve some heartfelt talk btw him and Allie to address the misconceptions she has about love from her parents relationship, love doesn’t mean sticking with someone out of guilt or show that you can commit, it’s the love that makes you want to stay even when things are messy.

Meanwhile I think Dean is going to getting more penalties in game cause he is upset and masking about Hunter, about Allie, and also about life post college. I think that’s what will lead to him then being assigned to coach a little kid hockey league and help him realize his passion for coaching (hopefully this will also give a reason why he has to stay in school longer if he changes his major to something befitting that new career choice). I am wondering who they will cast as Summer but also as Deans father and other family members.

I think it will be interesting to see how the dynamics are handled now that Hannah and Garrett are together but Dean and Allie may try to avoid one another in the beginning of s2 given how s1 ended and having to come up with excuses for why to the friend group. Also, I’m wondering why at the end of s1, did Allie speak about what’s going btw her and Dean while Beau was right next to them- how did she know Dean had told Beau about them hooking up?🤔🤔

I think the show did a pretty good job s1 of not relying on toxic storylines, hopefully they can do the same for s2, navigating all the heavy emotions like grief, insecurities etc without toxic storylines tropes like romantic triangles or Dean and Allie continuing to hook up but Dean being cruel to her because he is hurt by her being with Hunter.
