Best enclosures
Hi everyone!
When I was new and less educated about ball pythons, an opportunity came up to buy a female bp with her enclosure and accessories from a friend of a friend. I’m allergic to pretty much everything, and I was really excited to have something that would not make me choke up and die lol. The enclosure was the new age ecoflex pvc (the tan one) and he did a custom landscape with foam that would fall apart, tear, etc., in the two years since I got her. Not to mention it’s impossible to clean properly. He also built two hides with the foam that I don’t think she’s ever really felt super secure in. I’ve struggled for so long with keeping ample humidity (i did plug every hole with tape, pour water in corners, coco husk & sphagnum) and the enclosure leaking and warping a little. I’m about to move and I just want to do a whole new set up that will be as comfortable as possible for her that will be easy to clean, retain humidity, stay waterproof at the bottom, stay sturdy, and is overall just dependable. All of this to say she’s had great sheds, she is SUCH a good eater, she’s healthy, and despite her set up not being perfect she has remained very docile and precious. I want to give her what she deserves, especially after going so long in the “not ideal” enclosure. So considering all of this, I’m looking for good enclosure recommendations! I’ve heard so many different things and I’ve done a lot of research pointing towards kages, focus cubed, toad ranch, but I was also wondering if there are any more affordable alternatives that don’t lose quality as a result. Regardless, I will do what’s best for her no matter what. Thank you for any and all help!
