How often do people get off the housing waitlist?
Incoming freshman here, I unfortunately missed the deadline for regular housing by a few hours, but I got on the waitlist almost immediately after it opened. The only issue is that I've heard the housing waitlist won't release until mid-July, which I'm worried might be too late to secure off-campus housing. I would definitely prefer on-campus housing for the first year, but I'm worried that if I sign a lease ahead of time and then get off the waitlist, I won't be able to get out of the lease. I was just wondering how often people are able to secure housing from the waitlist, because if it's very easy to get housing versus if almost no one can secure it then that changes a lot of things. (also are there any deadlines for off-campus housing that I should be aware of, both from Purdue itself and from individual spaces like Chauncey Square? I haven't found any notable deadlines but I'm paranoid that I'm missing something somehow)
