Helldiver here, which one of you stole my recruit?

Before you ask how I'm this deep in the Gloom, it's called "just because we're slightly deranged doesn't mean our scientists don't know their stuff. Especially the hazmat protection team."

Now, to business. One of you bugs told my recruit, a nice Scavenger who screamed too much, to crash the Pelican full of him and several other recruits into Meridia. Who did it, because I have a nice 500kg that I want to put your name on. If you happen to be a certain infested diver, it's a Portable Hellbomb.

Recruit, if you're reading this, I'm coming for you. Super Earth protects its own, and you're one of us now. I may be a psycho, but I'm going to make a citizen of you yet, my boy!

Greetings, fellow robots, from the Wasteland Zones of Super Earth!

Hello! Do you have any humans that we can kill?

So, I was messing around... (I just found this online somewhere, and made a copy. I don't play, but only because I don't have the books. Or the group. Or the dice.)

The Fantastic Voyagers: The XI Legion

The tale of the Fantastic Voyagers begins with their Primarch, Arthur MacDouglas.
Out of the 21 Primarchs, he had what was by and far the strangest homeworld of all. As opposed to being transported through space like his brothers when the Ruinous Powers scattered the Primarchs to the stars, he was transported through time. His destination? Terra… circa 185.M21. The Age of Technology.
There, he was taken into the care of a family of Men of Gold, and his Primarch genes resulted in him being mistaken as one to all but the finest gene-smiths of the era. During his infancy, his adopted family left Terra aboard the Fantastic Voyage, serving as crewpeople, to leave for a better life in the stars.
The Fantastic Voyage was one of the earlier colony ships launched in the massive diaspora that went from M15 to M25, styled in the traditional fashion of the Age, something called Art Deco; she was made a shining vessel clad in auramite prow and trim, engraved with gorgeous spirals, and her adamantium hull and the spires of the inverted city poking from her keel given the colour of timeless marble, as her antimatter thrusters belched a violet flame. The mighty vessel, dwarfing all but the largest starships of the Imperium as her length measured 200 km, and massing in the teratons, was even furnished with redundant Standard Template Constructs, both confirmed not only to contain all technical knowledge from the Age of Technology, but is to this day, still updating. Nobody knows why, save the vessel’s Silica Animus, disguised as a Machine Spirit, the long-dead shipwrights, and perhaps the Machine Spirit of the Speranza, itself possessing a similarly-anomalous STC.
Alas, the STC chamber, constructed of an impenetrable layer of pure adamantium, wrapped in a force-field envelope, has a defective door, and the ship had no tool that could puncture the door without harming the STCs inside. There is, however, the consolation that the ship’s similarly-protected cultural database was constructed correctly, and still easily accessible to the colonists.

Arthur grew up on the ship during its decades long voyage—searching for an adequate planet to colonize after the initial candidate proved inhospitable—he was raised by the crew, Men of Stone and Men of Gold, in what many would consider the ideal environment, the crew heavily influencing his growth into the man he became. He was properly educated by real scholars, given optimal nutrition instead of the horrible concoction of Corpse-starch, given a meticulous regimen instead of being forced to just survive a deathworld, taught to interact with both the “little people” and the fanciful, aristocratic elite, who always had champagne in hand; most importantly of all, he received actual psychological treatment instead of the endless untreated trauma that plagued and defined the lives of his brothers. However, there was a downside to his upbringing: His psychic powers were massively neglected, preventing the formulation of the more complex powers that his brothers could easily lay claim to, as the Warp was a strange new phenomenon at the time, of which little was known. Starting as a mere scout, his boots were the first on the ground of strange worlds, cutting and blasting his way through thick jungles and volcanic landscapes of the planets the Fantastic Voyage found during its travels, he quickly rose to the upper echelons of the crew, eventually ascending to become Captain on the ship’s twelfth year after departing from Mars. He was twenty-two at the time.

But how did the Emperor retrieve his eleventh son, when the Fantastic Voyage sped through the Warp over twelve thousand years ago? Through the all-too-common Warp phenomenon of time travel. After a particularly erratic jump, the ship emerged in XXX.M31, colliding with the Bucephalus at extreme velocity.  The Voyage’s impeccable hull, wrapped in force-screens of a nature unknown to the Mechanicum, suffered nary a scratch. The Bucephalus, on the other hand… Well, there exists a reason for its being replaced by the Imperator Somnium. Even the brilliant shipwrights of the Age of Technology who built the Fantastic Voyage wouldn’t take the job, not for all the riches of 16 Psyche. Suffice it to say, the Emperor was not pleased by this turn of events, regardless of his son’s return. The expert therapists aboard the Fantastic Voyage, however, managed to quell his fury. Barely.

Following the strange adventure involving fitting the Voyage through an Eldar Waygate, Trazyn the Infinite, a very lost Blood Axe WAAAGH!, and the First Great Phosphex-Burning of Commorragh, the Fantastic Voyage was returned to its point of origin, gracelessly crash-landing on the surface of Mars, her prow half-buried into the red sands, later to be uprighted and landed in a correct fashion. It should be noted that the Emperor was driving at the time. But nonetheless, they made it to Mars... somehow.

Arthur was appointed command of the XI legion, dubbing them the Fantastic Voyagers, named in honor of the starship he grew up on. On their shoulders, they carried the livery of the Fantastic Voyage: a silhouette of the ship, held within a golden laurel wreath. The Legion came to specialize in a unique topic: Mechanized hazardous-environment and void warfare, with a focus on use of energy weapons. They marched across deathworlds spewing lava and neurotoxic spores, alongside tanks and dreadnoughts, plasguns and volkite chargers in hand. They flew through the vacuum of space, boarding ships and cutting them apart from the inside-out, sometimes commandering them to ram other enemy ships. The Fantastic Voyagers and Arthur quickly grew famous throughout the Imperium, for their successes were massive, and far from few, putting Legions like the Emperor’s Children and the Luna Wolves to shame. But they were also infamous, for the Fantastic Voyagers were by and far the most independent of the legions, only tolerated due to the massive successes the Fantastic Voyagers brought to the Great Crusade, and the sheer cost of reigning them in was absurd: A legion three hundred and fifty thousand men strong, not counting the Tech-priest complements they bought with them. And as they held the favor of both the Mechanicum and the Questor Imperialis? To bring an end to their independent streak  would be an endeavour so costly that it would bring the Crusade to a screeching halt. But one year, Arthur went too far for the Emperor. Seeking a more reliable alternative to Navigators and Astropaths, he constructed a Silica Animus with the assistance of the Legio Cybernetica, pursuing an end to their unreliability.

As you may have guessed, this enraged the Emperor, the horrors of the Cybernetic Revolt coming to the forefront of his mind, but was the final straw. He ordered the Long Fantastic Voyagers to Mars, and had Legio Custodes subdue them. This did not go well. The battle against the Fantastic Voyagers was hard, and bloody, the Custodes only winning due to the Emperor’s psychic foresight vastly outmatching Arthur’s. But the victory came at a steep cost, and saw such destruction that a second Valles Marineris was carved, marking the line of defense circling the Fantastic Voyage and the surrounding city of New Sagan, the chosen fortress of the Fantastic Voyagers.

Forced into the Fantastic Voyage at gunpoint, the Fantastic Voyagers were banished, exiled into space once again. The Voyagers, the Men of Gold and the Men of Stone that lived in New Sagan, everything that had ever come forth from that vessel and its captain, save the Silica Animus Arthur had built, all of it was placed aboard the Fantastic Voyage once more. The Silica Animus, however, was destroyed, reduced to atoms by the Emperor Himself. The last to board, Arthur swore to the citizens of the Imperium and to his brothers that their foresightless lord would lead them down a path of ruin. How right he was. The vessel was launched into the Warp, never to be seen again… Until now.

Now, they emerge from the Warp in a galaxy that has forgotten them. Their once-proud Imperium of old has degenerated into a psychotic shell of its former self, only kept alive through sheer size, rage, and the two primarchs returned to it. Xenos have gained more ground than ever before over the last ten millenia, and Chaos reigns, barely checked. Soon their ship will approach a planet, and the legion out of time will emerge, carrying weapons and armor scarcely seen in ten thousand years, Saturnine and Contemptors, Atomantic Reactors and Volkite, Phosphex and Adrathic Weapons. Where they are? Nobody knows, but they will be ready to kill when they land, ready to do battle and fight wars. For if there is one thing shared between the Legion Out of Time, and the Chapters of the current Imperium, it is this: They are Space Marines. Bulwarks against terror. Defenders of humanity. And they know no fear.
