I’d really love some help with choosing cities/an itinerary!
Hi everyone! My fiance and I are doing our honeymoon in Japan. We know we want to start off our trip in Okinawa, and end it in Tokyo. There are just so many options, it’s overwhelming. We’ll be in Japan from September 15th-September 26.
9/15/26: We land in Tokyo (Narita) and the plan is to fly to Okinawa when we land. We’re unsure if we should stay in Naha and do some day trips to Kerama/Tokashiki, or if we should stay on a smaller island like Ishigaki or Miyako?
9/20: We are wondering if we should go to Kyoto or go to a less crowded city like Kanazawa, Takayama, etc. My fiancé has been to Kyoto/Japan, but this is my first time. I think realistically we’d only have from the morning of the 20th to the 22nd though, leaving that evening.
9/23-9/26: Tokyo.
What do you all think? Should we scrap the 2 days in Kyoto/smaller city? I’d like to do a nice onsen, so we could just go to Tokyo straight from Okinawa and do a day trip to Hakone or something.
For Okinawa, should we stay on a smaller island or stay in the Naha area and do ferry trips?
