NJ resident trying to become NYPD
Hey I’ve had interest in NYPD for a while, I live in NJ right by gothals, I’m looking to take the test in July on Staten Island and I’m well aware you have to be a NY Resident by the time you’re appointed to the academy, Say I take the test, pass, get the email for the next steps, how soon would you say I need to make the move to ny? I have family all over the city and the chances of me being allowed to use their address by nypd is low. I had a family member who lived in Jersey who had to move to ny when he got appointed and he kind of got in trouble for using another family members address. Any advice on this? I know nypd gets shat on all the time for how shitt the job can be, but I’m 25 and have a bachelors in criminal justice and am just trying to get my foot in the door anywhere. Should I even attempt to waste my time if I end up not even getting hired? Thanks
