Devlog #3 Very early prototype footage from my first serious UE5 horror project.

Current features:
- looping time reset system
- interactive doors/buttons
- glitch transition effects
- gameplay state reset
- objective system groundwork

The idea is that each loop subtly changes the facility and eventually starts replaying your previous actions as “ghosts”.

Still very early in development and I’m just at the beginning of the project, but the atmosphere is finally starting to come together.

Today I finally got the first real gameplay interaction working in my Unreal Engine 5 prototype.

Current progress:

  • First playable level blockout
  • Interactable sci-fi buttons
  • Door interaction system
  • Red emergency corridor lighting
  • Dark atmosphere pass

The game is built around a time-loop mechanic where your past runs will eventually help solve puzzles.

Right now I’m heavily focusing on:

  • gameplay feel
  • level scale
  • atmosphere
  • interaction readability

Still very early, but it finally feels like an actual game instead of a test scene.

Feedback is welcome 🙏

Hi everyone,

I’m starting my journey as a solo indie game developer using Unreal Engine 5 and C++. I’ve recently decided to take game development sĺeriously and build my own projects from scratch instead of just learning tutorials.

Right now, I’m in the early development phase of my first game. The goal is to create a playable prototype and gradually expand it into a full experience.

🎮 What I’m working on:

Unreal Engine 5 (C++)

Gameplay systems (movement, interaction, core mechanics)

Level design experiments

Learning production workflow step by step

🎯 My goal:

To build and release original indie games and share the entire development journey here as devlogs.

I’ll be posting updates regularly, including:

Progress screenshots / clips

Technical challenges

Design decisions

Lessons learned

This is just the beginning, but I’m fully committed to improving and finishing real projects. Any feedback, suggestions, or advice from experienced devs is highly appreciated.

Thanks for reading 🙌
