I’m an L4 at Google and have been here for about 4 years. Over the past 4 months, I’ve been building a startup on the side that I’m genuinely passionate about. I’m currently raising, have some traction and revenue, and I’m seriously considering going all in. Financially, I’ve saved and invested well, so I have some cushion.
That said, I’m pretty anxious about leaving. Google is a great job with strong comp and stability, and I can’t shake the feeling that I might regret walking away. I also think my manager may mark me as not eligible for rehire, which makes the decision feel more permanent.
Part of me feels like this is the right time, but another part is worried I’m making a mistake.
Would really appreciate advice from people who’ve been in a similar spot.
