Please share what jewelry you wear!!!! I am trying to get a feel for what law babes wear on a daily basis. Also, a general consensus of when fine jewelry in the professional field crosses the line from classy to tacky. My boss and founding partner wears at least 2 van cleef bracelets, a van cleef or bulgari serpentini necklace and no rings (she is unmarried) every day. Alternatively she wears a tennis bracelet stack with 3-4 tennis bracelets and a van cleef necklace. I like to wear colored gemstones consisting of one or two rings and a pair of earrings. I am trying to get a feel if there is an acceptable jewelry aesthetic in the legal field for women, or if anything goes these days.

I have been a practicing attorney in corporate/securities law for what feels like my entire grown up life (15 years) but I have never ever attended any professional networking conferences. Sure - I’ve been to ave conferences, but this is different. It’s a bunch of pubco CEOs and Investment Bankers and the ticket is probably around 5k just as a visiting attorney to network for firm visibility. I’m going to start going to more of these things and since I’ve been WFH for the last 8 years, more or less, I don’t know what to expect. there are west coast and east coast and Canadian conferences this year. What can I wear? Suit and sneakers? Dress and blazer? Are fun classy color pops ok? Can I wear sneakers with my orange linen suit or am I like totally stuck in heels with some boooring black or navy conservative suit look? Are heels a must or can I please for the love just wear some flats? Can I wear my gems? What is a yes and a no-no? Most people at these events are probably men and are probably loaded but there’s probably next to no women there and the ones that go are probably someone‘s staff. Please dress me! I’m 5’6” 130 lbs size 2-4 and 40 years old. What do you suggest I wear for a summer look and a fall look? Please budget me at around 4k per look including shoes.
