argument with manager over stolen tips
I live in the UK I'm currently on a 0 hour contract at a restaurant as a server and about a week ago i had an argument with one of the managers about tips
information i thinks important
-im on a 0 hour contract
-there are no sections in our restaurant
-we only accept cash tips we are unable to accept card tips
-it is a part time job
-i am above the age of 17
-i've worked here for over a year
-im in england
firstly the shift itself, the shift was completely fine until around 9pm where there was around 2 tables left one of 2 people and another of 6, the table of 6 asked for the bill i gave it however this manager took the payment as we do not have sections in our restaurant, now the manager is actually include in the tip pool as he helps out with serving now i'm totally fine with this however this shift he didnt work till 7pm and he himself admitted that he just chilled with kitchen and didn't help as much so he was fine with being exempted from the tip pool now when he took payment of them they tipped on card (£14) without being told the servers do not receive card tips meaning all of the tips went directly to the owners (including him) of the business now thinking this was a simple mistake I confronted him about it saying how is that fair to us the other servers now this escalated to a slight argument that i left and now he's cut my usual shifts even though it's still fairly busy so i believe that he's only doing it as of the argument we had last week
i'm not sure what to do now as im pretty sure him taking the tips from the servers is gross misconduct any advice would be greatly appreciated.
