Loss of Benefits Paper
I was impacted by the layoff in May. My wife tried to add me to her plan but it was rejected as the elimination email GM sent out did not have enough information. The FAQ GM sent said that a packet would come with a cover letter we could use, but how long does that normally take to show up? I logged into netbenifits and I can select cobra but there is not any way to download documents for the loss of coverage. I got an email stating "please allow 30 days to process" after returning the signed release agreement... Am I really going to have to go 30 days uncovered all because they arn't providing a way to download proof of the loss of coverage? I know cobra is technically an option, but Im not paying $700 when I can get much cheaper through my wife's employer... ya know, because I dont have an income.
EDIT: Found it directly after complaining about it. In NetBenefits, click on the chat icon. That will take you to a page where you can use the NetBenefits Assistant, but instead click on Account Notices. It should be listed as HW General Correspondence.
