Pregnancy making me see people differently?

I’m 7 weeks pregnant and something weird has happened socially. There’s one friend I reconnected with shortly before getting pregnant. She has a history of being kind of shady/manipulative toward me (a lot of instability, impulsiveness, emotional drama, etc.) and I ignored a lot of it because I wanted to believe she had changed.

But almost immediately after becoming pregnant, it’s like my tolerance disappeared. I don’t even mean mild annoyance. I genuinely feel repulsed by the dynamic now. She suddenly feels incredibly infantile, emotionally unsafe, draining, and not like someone I’d ever want around my child or family long term.

It’s honestly startling how fast the switch flipped. Things I used to rationalize now seem painfully obvious.

I’m curious if pregnancy amplified anyone else’s instincts about the people in their life? Like it suddenly sharpened your sense of who feels safe vs unsafe, trustworthy vs untrustworthy, emotionally mature vs chaotic?
