Ever had that moment of panic where a service stops working, and you waste 10 minutes checking your router, Twitter, and Downdetector just to find out it's an outage?
I built IsItdown ?, a Chrome extension that monitors your favorite web services and sends you instant push notifications when they go down (and when they come back up).

How we built it: I teamed up with a developer friend to build this. Under the hood, it's very lightweight: we fetch the real-time statuses directly from the official service pages via their JSON endpoints. The rest of the extension is built using pure, basic HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript.
