Hi everyone,
I recently got my hands on the Ayn Odin 2 Portal (12GB RAM), and I’ve been dying to get No Man’s Sky running natively on it. I know it’s a heavy lift for Android, but I’ve seen reports of people getting it to work.
Here is my current situation:
- Version: I own the game on Steam.
- Methods tried: I’ve attempted to run it using both Winlator and GameHub Lite.
- The Issue: In Winlator, I can get past the menus and reach the save selection screen, but it crashes during the loading process.
I’ve done some research and noticed two things:
- Most successful runs seem to use the GOG version.
- I've read that even if you get the Steam version to boot, it often doesn't recognize the handheld controls, whereas the GOG version reportedly works fine with them.
My questions for the community:
- Has anyone successfully managed to run the Steam version natively on an Odin 2 or similar Snapdragon 8 Gen 2/3 device?
- If you got the Steam version to work, how did you fix the controller support? Is there a specific workaround for the Steam Input requirements?
- Are there specific Winlator/Gamenative/Gamehub settings (Box64/Wine versions or DXVK wrappers) that you’d recommend to stop the crashing?
In the meantime, I’m enjoying the game at home via Steam Link, which works flawlessly, but I’d really love to have it truly portable.
Thanks in advance for any help or insight!
