"Too Independent"

I (F45) was speaking with a (genx) man fairly recently, who during the course of our conversation said, "Oh! I see why you're single. You're too independent."

Wtf does that even mean?!

I've been sitting with this for a couple of weeks, and I honestly don't know what it actually means.

Any ideas? I'm genuinely asking.

I'm too old to be dealing with this shit.

UPDATE: Just talked to my boss. He's dropping them as clients, I'm getting paid for most of the hours I won't be getting this week (I was covering someone's vacation), and my boss must be a real feminist- he didn't question me AT ALL! Y'all! What a breath of fresh air from a man in a position of power. (my boss owns the company)

Thank y'all for all of the advice. I will be getting a Google number to give out, moving forward.

And because I'm seeing resolution, I'll go ahead and tell you, I'm a non-nursing hospice carer. I've had several clients since starting this job, and they've all been lovely.

I recently started a new job, after looking for months. I live in a rural area. I drive 60+ miles, one way, to get to my new work.

I don't want to give too many details, I do wanna be as anonymous as possible- so bear with me.

In my new profession, I deal with a lot of people. These people and their families have to have my personal cell phone. I had a person call me at midnight last night, to offer me money for sex. (1) I met them on Friday, (2) they are not my job, but they are in control of my job, (3) what the actual fuck?!

Why- literally, why, would a man think that after chatting briefly, that this is acceptable behavior? Nothing about my job has sex or sex adjacent work in the description.

I thought I'd get an apology text this morning, but instead, it was an address.

I tried calling my boss, despite the fact that just reporting this is going to get me reassigned and I'll lose about $500 of work...... but my boss didn't answer, so I sent a text asking for a call.

Anyone else *still* dealing with sexual harassment at our age?

And how would you deal with this?

Am I the last to find out stuff?

A friend in Knoxville just sent me this Pic. Had anyone seen one of these? I'm dying to know which streets? And are there community chest cards that discuss white flight and a lack of a taxable base?
