"Fever Dreams"

When it's 3am and "there's always tomorrow"

To run away from the pain or ease our sorrow

Some late night high that we beg, steal, or borrow

To fill up our cups or drain our minds hollow

It's never 3am without some late night song

Jotting down memories and how we don't belong

We can write rhymes every night about our will to stay strong

But our hearts can't read and swears our brains dead wrong

It's always 3am when we can't sleep

Or find the words to recite to keep our minds at ease

We were once a hundred feet high, now were six feet deep

The same words I can't find are the words you can't speak
