Horrible weed - HELP!
I’ve got a horrible, seemingly indestructible (and possibly invasive) weed growing everywhere. It looks kind of like crab grass or lily of the valley but I don’t believe it’s either, as it doesn’t flower. It spreads like wildfire. I tried to root it out last year but found that the root system is complex, deep, sprawling and never ending. The system is thick and can spread all around, as much as fifteen or more feet. It’s choking out my hydrangeas and anything else I’ve tried to save and it’s a battle I fear I am losing.
Can anyone help to identify it? They grow in large clusters and seem to be incredibly hardy in my area. I live in Vermont.
I’ll attach a picture to this post. I can also add pics of what it looks like when it’s more mature if that helps. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
