Background Question
Any Canadian officers or officers in general willing to share their experience with the background stage? Roughly how many friends did your background investigator talk to, and what kinds of questions did they ask about you?

Hey everyone,
I’m planning on applying to a police service at 23, but when I was 18 I engaged in some behaviour multiple times that clearly showed a lack of honesty and integrity.
I fully understand that these are core qualities for an officer, and this is something that can be hard for recruiters to overlook. I take full responsibility for my actions and I’m going to be completely upfront about it during the application process.
That said, I know I’m not the same person I was back then. I’ve matured a lot since 18 and genuinely prioritize honesty and integrity in my life now.
I was wondering how I can effectively demonstrate that growth. How can I show that this was a maturity issue at the time, and that I’ve made real, lasting changes in my character?
Appreciate any insight.
