Have you guys reported your areas in this new JABOR tracker app?
came across this really interesting civic project built for assam by angkita bhagawati.
a few weeks ago, she discovered how bangalore uses namma kasaa, a civic app where people can report garbage issues and hold local bodies accountable. it actually created impact there.
assam didn’t really have something like that. so she built one.
it’s called jabor, a free, anonymous civic accountability app for assam.
here’s how it works:
→ spot a garbage dump, take a photo
→ select your district and constituency
→ jabor maps it directly to your mla and mp
→ the report becomes a permanent public record
→ there’s even a live “board of shame” ranking politicians based on garbage complaints in their areas
honestly feels like one of those simple ideas that can genuinely become useful if enough people use it, however im more interested it knowing what happens after we report it here.
if you’re from assam, try it out and share it with your friends, family, and local whatsapp groups. the more reports people submit, the stronger the data becomes.
