My 2 year old has been sleeping great independently since 8 months old and falling asleep independently as well. For the past 3 week, he’s been waking up 1-2 times a night crying for me and won’t go to sleep independently. He would cry for 30 minutes until I bring him to bed with me.

I’m at a loss now and hate hearing him cry for that long but he just refuses to sleep on his own now. Going back in the room and reassuring him doesn’t work either. I’ve tried changing his nap schedule and nothing has changed. I know there tends to be a 2 year sleep regression and separation anxiety but just not sure what to do now.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated!
