I’m into backpacking, but would like to start bikepacking. This bike was my dad’s that had been sitting for roughly 16 years. I am currently getting it tuned up in the shop since it wasn’t shifting gears properly. Would this bike suffice for a beginner bikepacker? What would you do to it if anything?

I have a rear rack coming with a bag from rockbros but don’t know where else to go from here. I also have a 28L backpack as well as a much nicer 65L. Unsure which one I’m going use for weekend trips.
