Four Chaplains Medal

Went to the National WW2 Museum in New Orleans this week (highly recommend) and came across this medal. I wasn't aware of it or the circumstances behind its creation and was completely floored by their selflessness and sacrifice. Snippet from the wiki and links below if you're just as unaware as I was.

"During the early morning hours of February 3, the vessel [SS Dorchester] was torpedoed by the German submarine U-223 off Newfoundland in the North Atlantic. The chaplains helped the other soldiers board lifeboats and gave up their own life jackets when the supply ran out. The chaplains joined arms, said prayers, and sang hymns as they went down with the ship."

Did a 200ish mile total day trip as a way to get used to longer range drives. All went very well, was happy with my efficiency stats, thought I'd share the stats from the last leg home. Mostly 2 lane highway driving through hills.

Even ran into another, same model/year/color iD4 and chatted with its owners (gotta smile when a convo with strangers starts with, "Don't you just love this car?").
