How does HR Process a FJO?

This is more of a rant than anything, but the hiring process is ridiculously slow. I accepted a TJO 1 month ago, got told my prospective EOD ~2 weeks ago for a start date in mid-June. I was advised when I got my EOD that I would receive the FJO in a couple weeks.

I’m a DHS intra-agency transfer and I have a higher clearance than what is required. I would be going up a pay grade, but that’s pretty much the only thing different. My case should very straightforward in my opinion.

The problem is that I have to move cross country, meaning I need someone to take my lease, find an apartment, and obviously ship all of my belongings - all within a month. And I’m obviously not going to make any permanent moving decisions until I sign the final job offer. I already bought a one way plane ticket home since plane tickets get more expensive the closer the flight dates come.

Maybe I am being naive as to what is actually involved in the hiring process when processing a FJO. But it sounds like it should be the simplest step in the process since all the heavy lifting was previously completed.

What actually has to happen for HR to process a FJO?

I accepted a TJO this week. I’ve been in federal service for 4 years and I have a TS clearance. The position I received requires a Secret clearance. Given everything I just said, how long would this process generally take?
