This is an older kenmore 7 series.
I am 7 months pregnant and heavily nesting. I keep noticing my blankets having a “sweet” burnt smell instead of smelling fresh, my husband can’t smell it. It’s almost syrupy smelling. I had enough of it and took my dryer apart and found these brownish/red rings which are darker in certain spots. I smelled it and it smells like what I’ve been smelling lately.
I vacuumed the lint out of the inside and off of the heating element as there was a little that was staring to singe.
What is the next step here? I could probably convince my husband to get a new dryer but it isn’t loud or squeaky, doesn’t take long to dry, there’s nothing wrong except for this smell I’ve noticed lately.
