I feel like I’ve spent years optimizing for stability and salary, but now I’m realizing I have no clue whether the path I’m on actually fits me long term.

I've had my resume reviewed three times. It's fine. I'm applying to roles within my experience range. Getting some interviews but every time I get to the why do you want this role part I fumble because the honest answer is, I need a job and this one seemed close enough.

I think companies can sense that I have no real direction and it's killing my chances. How do i deal with this?
