Anyone else feel like they need a lot of time between playthroughs?

When I bought my Switch 2 day one of release, I also got BOTW on it which I had played a ton on my switch 1. It was even my favorite game for a while- but it then had been 3 years since I played it and couldn't even remember why I loved it so much- I couldn't even remember one element that I absolutely loved about it.

Well, playing it on Switch 2 may be one of my favorite gaming experiences ever and I immediately remembered why I loved it. The combat is so fun- the exploration is so rewarding- the rewards are rewarding- it's amazing. I put like 60 hours into it then put it down once I got tired of it. Didn't get all the shrines or complete the quests 100%. I refuse to use game guides- except I just wanted to try out the official app to find koroks- it's okay.

But now, I feel like I need to wait a long time to play it again- maybe another 2 or 3 years. I finished that play through maybe 9 or 10 months ago. I don't want to pick it up until I have that strong urge and excitement to dive back in. I tried replaying TOTK on Switch 2, and man, that game just cannot suck me in like BOTW can. My first playthrough of that game was the best- now I can't put more than 10 hours in without feeling like I'm just redoing what I did before. Never feels like there's a good time to play it, to be honest. Cuz then that's just more time I need to wait until I play BOTW again.

Thanks for reading my word-vomit. Anyway, does anyone else feel like I do?

Just finished this game for the first time.

Gotta say i don't love it. wow shocker I'm sure i'm the only person who ever said that. not gonna go into huge detail but I got a couple large issues.

  1. The parrying. I hate the parrying. It sucks. It punishes me for doing what the first 2 games taught me to do- dodging.

  2. The boss fights. Holy crap I hate them and there are so many in the late game. They are so damn long- 3-4 phases per boss and the phases are dreadfully tedious and repetitive. They're also very difficult. I don't have a problem with difficulty! But it doesn't come down to skill- it's all about "how many times can you repeat the same cycle in a row without getting hit 3 times"? and all the bosses function the same. 0.5 seconds to choose if you're gonna parry, dodge, or jump out of the way then get a few punches in. That's 5 out of seemingly thousands of punches for this one phase! Oh, you died? Start over bitch.

The activities are also pretty lackluster compared to spiderman 1 and miles morales.

The swinging is great and the graphics are great.

I hate Hailey.

Okay that's it. Sure I'm pretty original w this lol.

Botw is my favorite game of all time. I'm not looking for something to supersede it, just something that those who are in love with Botw may love this one too. Any ideas? Thanks guys!

Sorry if this is talked about a lot, I just feel out of the loop. I kind of get the impression online that people don't like him anymore. It does feel like he's going through a weird spot right now- no more Lux, no more Scott, no more Wendy, no more L.A.

Comments used to just be filled with how fucking awesome he was for not being insecure and telling these crazy stories and being sober today, and still being fucken alive lmao.

But now it seems like people just find him dumb and annoying. What's the deal?
