Extreme pain after lobe piercing

hi, i got my 3rd pair of earlobe piercings done last year, for some reference it was done right under the curved part that narrows and juts out and i was in extreme, extreme pain back then. I got it done via a gun (i know thats unsafe but the pain felt unreasonable honestly) and the pain was so bad after 3-4 hours of the piercing that i felt like i was being electrocuted and had to pass out on painkillers. I’d even wake up in the middle of my sleep bc of the pain, it felt like this deep throbbing all over my ear. Eventually it did go away after 2 days and i ended up taking my earrings off like 6 months later, forgot to put them back and this led to the piercing completely closing on itself.

I’m thinking of reopening this very piercing by myself but i’m not sure if i should? My friend said the pain was abnormal so i am a bit worried if the piercer messed something up and if reopening it would somehow make it worse. Should i get the piercing relocated by a professional? Or is it safe to reopen myself?

I had other lobe piercings done via gun and a helix done via a needle but neither hurt even half as a bad.
