Hi,
My garage repair guy upgraded my springs to handle the weight of my door. It is now balanced and can manually hold in place for each position, but the motor seems to be struggling still and I do not feel comfortable opening the garage still. He said the root cause of the damage was the weight of the door was higher than what the original spring was rated for, and that caused the the gear to be damaged as well.
He says that with the upgraded springs, it is for sure a gear issue. I did mention the looseness of the chain, he mentioned that would all have to be taken off and re tightened after the repair.
My motor is a Linear LDO33.
Cost quoted was roughly $150, he needs to find the parts first.
Any advice?
