This is really hard to write so please forgive me if I’m not making sense or get anything wrong/repetitive. My piebald boy, Cheese Puff, has rapidly declined in his condition (severe weight loss and dehydration, lethargy, white gunk in his mouth and throat, barely moving) even after being seen by a vet who’d diagnosed him with a URI, scale rot, and an “oral yeast infection”. He was given an anti-inflammatory and antibiotic shots, and we were told he should be fine within a week. It’s been three days and he’s deteriorated to the point I’m not convinced he’s going to make it through the night. He’s got so much white gunk in his mouth he can’t breathe, and he’s barely moving- Only really responding to being poked at. He was wheezing and struggling to breathe earlier, and I’m wholly convinced he’s slowly suffocating and there isn’t anything I can do. I feel so terrible for my poor baby, I don’t know what to do to help him. The vet I took him to gave us nothing but outdated/incorrect information and the only specialty vet I can get to isn’t taking new patients. I’m heartbroken and scared for him. I won’t be including a photo due to how severe his condition is.

We are in the Russellville area of Arkansas (US). A few years ago, my mother (she doesn’t use Reddit so I’m posting for her) tried to make a payment to Credit One, but they refused to accept any payment attempts she made and sent the money back to her.

Now, they’re apparently trying to sue her, and we had a woman banging on our front door (05/09/2026) and aggressively interrogating our neighbors, asking where my mother was, when she’d be off work, and what days she has off. She did have a badge and left a card labeled:

The back of the card has my mother’s name handwritten on it, but the blank for “case number” has nothing written. I don’t understand how it’s legal for Credit One to refuse to accept her payment attempts and then try to sue her for “not paying” a bill, or for this woman to interrogate our neighbors about my mother’s whereabouts when there is no arrest warrant. I will also note that this woman came here looking for my mother in her personal vehicle, with a very large dog inside the car that seemed aggressive.

What can we do about this? Was it legal in any sense for this woman to go about things the way she did? What about Credit One claiming they were never paid? This has us extremely stressed out and I really need advice here. Thank you for reading.

Hello! I’m interested in getting a veiled chameleon and wanted to reach out for people‘s opinions on what sources are best for learning about them and their care, and what info sources I should avoid. Any other advice or product recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I am aware they’re an “advanced level” animal and fully plan on learning as much as I can and establishing a bioactive enclosure before getting one (if I decide they’d be a good fit for me). Just wanted to make sure I’m not accidentally taking in any wrong info! Thanks in advance :)
