Dentist

Was awarded 100pt one month and a half ago. Haven’t been to the dentist in like 15 years lol I’m actually pretty excited and thankful. Just out of curiosity what has been everyone’s experience going to the VA for dental? Do they only take care of cavities and stuff or do they actually do routine exams like cleanings every six months?

okay I hear this in this all the time. I looked it up and most sources say practically poking the bear is an irrational fear and that it rarely rarely really happens.

so this is a survey. comment if you lost 100pt because you were trying to get an earlier effective date or for some other reason.

also if you were reduced on a rating you had not filed the claim on just by opening a new claim comment.

I have a Higher Level Review sitting in the decision phase. It’s been there for a while — straight closed exam, no conference requested, no duty to assist error. About three months in, give or take.

I called the VA hotline today, and the lady I got was extremely helpful. She walked me through the whole process and told me what she could see on her main screen. Then she put me on hold to dig into the back end. When she came back, she told me that based on the records, my claim was actually being worked on today — that someone was on it right then, and it was basically out of the queue.

Just to double-check, I called back later in the day. The next VA employee told me it was still in the decision phase, and when I asked if a reviewer had picked it up yet, she said no.

So I called one more time to see if maybe the first lady didn’t know what she was talking about — and got the same answer as the second call. Both of those reps were short, kind of irritable, and didn’t seem like they looked very hard.

Has anyone experienced something like this? I feel like the first lady was probably right, just because of how much detail she gave me about what was happening on the file today.

I know the answer is to be patient and not worry about it. I’m mostly just curious — figured this is the place to ask. And it’s not because I’m really losing my mind I’m just sitting around. I have nothing to do and I just want to ask. I know some of y’all get pissed if anybody Asks any question here. Just scroll past it if it makes you angry instead of Whatever it is, you normally do
