Looking for the old fashioned small town ice cream shop vibe in any of the surrounding areas around Madison. The kind where the small size cones are still giant and the price is decent and the quality is always there. I’ve found so many over the years like that in the Milwaukee area and other parts of the state but have yet to find one around here - any favorite spots? Madison has some good ice cream shops but the prices get pretty high. Thanks!
Staying in Fish Creek this coming Thurs-Sat. Any recs for dinner spots nearby to get a good view of the sunset?
Also - with flies hatching, wonder if those tend to be a bother when walking the sidewalks by shops and restaurants or more so only if you’re hiking/staying right on the water? We spend a lot of time with lake flies this time of year at home so aren’t strangers to them, just trying to plan (and the ones we have leave green dots everywhere - is that the case with these too?)
When did you apply for FM jobs out of residency? End of pgy2 year? Would love to hear people’s timelines for when you applied/interviewed/accepted positions.
Also really struggling right now because if we leave our current city (which we are open to doing), my husband will need to find a new job as well. Just feels like the timing of this is difficult because he can’t really apply right now and tell employers he would like to start in 12+ months (I’m a PGY2), but I want to take his opportunities into consideration when choosing my own job, since we do have benefits in FM of pretty ample opportunities in most locations.
