War of the worlds 2005

I watched it online so I’m not sure if its my player or not but the sound was really low (too low) whenever people spoke and really loud (too loud) during action scenes. I couldn’t hear the dialogue. It made it hard for me to fully enjoy. I almost want to think the movie isn’t so great just for the volume and sound being so off. It does make me want to read the novel and see how much better it is. A few fallacies other than the sound:

  • Tom Cruise had a NE accent for 2.5 seconds and lost it for the rest of the movie unlike all the other actors. Mildly disappointing I expect more from him
  • How was the son still alive by the end???

Dakota Fanning and the young man that played the son, Justin Chatwin carries this film. Actually all the side characters do (I don’t include the kids as side characters)

I think I remembered and expected the movie to be better than it was. It feels mildly lackluster 7/10

I hate people that are perpetual victims

I hate people that are perpetual victims. If you’re always, somehow the victim in every situation and everybody is always wrong and you are always the one that’s slighted and you’ve never done anything wrong and you’re always crying about something someone did to you meanwhile, you’re causing havoc, chaos, and mayhem everywhere you go, and you never take accountability for anything get the fuck away from me

oh, and then the people that lie about shit. Every time they tell a story, they’re the victim in the story, but they never talk about what happened first what they did first to cause the reaction and they want to criticize how other people react

Good vs Bad and the difference

I had no idea that there are so many movies and TV shows that a massive number of people watch with the incapability to discern who and what is bad and why. Or maybe they can tell and they are just immoral? I’m not entirely sure, but it’s shocking to me to now find this out because I have watched shows and films and can clearly discern who is bad and why and walk around with the expectation that everyone else watching it has the same interpretation and mindset and that’s my fallacy. People can’t seem to recognize the difference between a protagonist and an antagonist, and that just because someone is the protagonist it doesn’t necessarily mean that they are a character to root for, sympathize with or admire. A lot of people are antagonists in their own story.

edit: let’s list all the movies and tv shows this applies to, I’ll go first you continue:

  • You
  • Joker
  • Wolf of Wall Street
  • the Ted Bundy Zac Efron Netflix movie

Have you ever felt like someone wants to be you?

I have experienced this too much (much more as an adult than as a kid which doesn’t make sense to me!!!) and after so much I hate it! how do you feel about it if you’ve experienced it?

Why do people (both genders) desperately want to be in a relationship? Don’t they realize how much they’re losing?

obviously, this is only specifically directed to the people that desperately want to be in a relationship. I’m asking because I genuinely cannot understand the perspective. I have never had it really. Every time I think about a relationship I think about everything that I lose and I lose more than I gain so it’s like way better to be single or non committal. It’s less annoying and more peaceful. There’s so many perks like I can list it.

Do you experience this too?

I’ve experienced this multiple times now:

men that repeat themselves over and over about something I’ve said that upset them. Specifically when I’ve said I was going to leave or visit for a short time they repeated that over and over again. But never explaining why that upsets them. I know those men have problems with emotional intelligence.

Have you experienced men repeating themselves about something that they feel upset about? if you have how did you respond? Did you ever try to help men with their emotional intelligence? help them with conveying and expressing their emotions?

edit: if the answer is no what did you say to them? Did you tell them to go to therapy? how did you respond?

When you hear your friend complain about how they were wronged and they’re obviously not a victim how do you respond?

I really want to ask do you tell them that they’re not a victim? or it’s not that serious? or do you at least ask them why that makes them upset?

Weird occurrences- signs or coincidences?

There are times when I decide on something and something happens in the news that should discourage me from following through on my decision.

I desperately want to leave my hometown. I’ve always dreamt of traveling but could never do it because I was too young and broke (a child). It was my only and biggest dream but I knew I would never get any support. Since being an adult I’ve finally tried to be a flight attendant (didn’t get it, it’s ok) and at the time that I was actively trying (applying etc) there was all this news of planes dropping out of the sky. All of these plane accidents. I tell my parents I’m going to be a flight attendant and on the tv right before the news discussed a plane accident and my parents looked upset at my decision. Next I apply to work on a cruise ship. Then news comes out of the hantavirus cruise incident. This is the 2nd time now it’s happened! Is it just a weird coincidence?????

Also every time I’ve spoken to people I know as an adult about how I want to travel and move to another country they are always discouraging and expect me to live where I’m at until I die! one person even moved to another country himself but would still try to discourage me! Sometimes it feels like I’m fighting against something greater than myself just to make my dream come true!

Rice Pudding is an underrated snack in America!!!! Here’s how I perfected mine:

For 1 person

  • 1 1/2 cup of rice (NOT basmati)
  • 2-3 cups of evaporated Carnation milk (adjust for your liking)
  • 2 cups of water
  • butter
  • 1-2 cinnamon sticks
  • sugar
  • salt

(it’s hard for me to put exact measurements of everything because I actually don’t measure while cooking)

Put water to boil on medium heat. Salt water. clean rice while water is Getting hot. Once boiling add rice to water. Then add cinnamon sticks. Then let rice boil with the pot lid OFF and stir occasionally. Then once the water is lower like beneath the rice but you can still see it boiling you lower the heat low to simmer. Then you add butter, stir it and watch it melt into the water. Then you add the milk. And keep stirring. Then you add sugar. Then you turn the heat off.

it’s really a great underrated meal! it doesn’t require a lot of ingredients and for many people they already have those staples in the kitchen. It’s such a great delicious low effort easy inexpensive meal! works as a dessert, as supper, as breakfast, as a snack, as lunch!

(btw I know it’s not underrated now in NYC because there’s those rice pudding restaurants all over thats totally not a money laundering front)
