Last night we successfully completed the first communication between our Specs and Supabase running locally on the mac. Over the next few months we will be publishing our app on the macOS store for deploying any Supabase project(especially Specs) onto local environment. This means much bigger apps, low latency over local wifi connection, and complete data privacy.
We did our first successful test of a Specs project on Supabase implemented on local Supabase CLI and then self-hosted locally on a mac. Imagine having a bank of mac minis that can run your cloud based Spectacles experiences. We are also building hooks into our alphaweb platform to connect to local MLX models.
Who in the Specs community would want to host all of their operations locally instead of AWS and LLM APIs?
Hey LA business owners and managers! We have finished securing all details for our meetup to showcase the Snap Inc. Spectacles. If you have already completed the google form there is no need to sign up with meetup. If you are a retail, fashion, experience based business this is a great event to have one on one time to showcase the world leading AR glasses tech and explore ideas for developing the enterprise applications and experiences.
Thank you!

We got our lens "Pizza Showdown" uploaded just in time for May 4th. Use the beam slicer(lightsaber) and use the "farce" to push and pull objects fighting with a second player! Single player has Darth Keanu throwing crates at you from all around.
For everyone going to AWE, I am gauging interest on putting together an off-site fun and games night at an Escape room in San Pedro. There are four rooms available that can be used for demonstrating games and experiences. Our company would cover the space rental for the evening and help arrange transportation between Long Beach and San Pedro. Who all would be interested in demoing and organizing with us?
On May 20th, 2026 from 530P to 830P we are inviting LA based Spectacles developers and business owners to Studious co-working space in Chinatown(address on form) for demos and connecting for enterprise use cases and experiences. We are trying to limit the number of devs to 10 so we have room for 30 to 40 business owners. If you are a developer that wants to invite business contacts, please shoot me a message. We would also like to invite a few XR developers from outside the Specs community so we can get them turned onto Lens Studio and the best hardware.
We will be providing limited cocktails and beer, I believe we had someone offer to bring food as well. If you want to help with hosting, also please send a message.
Thank you everyone! Looking forward to seeing you there.
Ernest
Use the farce to push and pull pizza, water balloons, and crates in a dodgeball format against friends while using the beam slicer to cut and block them. If you get close enough you can beam slice battle one another in close combat.
For anyone in the Los Angeles area, our team is putting together a meetup late May in Chinatown and starting to coordinate best days. If you want to bring your glasses and invite some non-Specs devs or business owners please hit this thread so we can connect.
