If you're diagnosed privately by any of the main providers eg. Adhddoc, Mindpath, Health Hero etc, will the HSE recognise this diagnosis if the patient ever gets approved for ADHD treatment by the HSE or will they just assess anew?

I think I read somewhere that Dr. Alan Murtagh is HSE approved, but I could be misremembering? Does anyone have any experience with this kind of thing?

This is a bit of a strange thing to be asking, and I'm obviously not looking for private details relating to therapy sessions. I'm just curious what are the broad topics you generally discuss and explore with your therapist?

I'm thinking of going to therapy myself, mainly because of a lack of momentum and motivation I am experiencing as I approach 30. The thing is though, there are no big traumas, and even not that many little traumas in my past. My parents have been good and I have had a happy life, and I am afraid of coming across as a self-pitying narcissist.

What are the main things ye discuss if in therapy? Thought processes? Relationships? Childhood? Existential meaning? Sex?

I'm just a bit lost, and am curious what experiences in therapy other user here have had.
