The official design of Khitans is odd to me because for a Light Horsemen Steppe Civ their Cavalry is surprisingly weak.

They miss bloodlines so Light Cav have 60 HP in Castle. 75 for Hussars.

Steppe Lancers have 60 HP in Castle. 80 for Elite

CA have 50 HP. Heavy CA in Castle is nice with a discount.

But not having Bloodlines or knights means they don't have any high HP mounted units.

Liao Diao swordsmen is nice but why does a Light Horsemen civ have a special infantry UU? And all the mounted units are extremely squishy? Perhaps a higher HP mounted unit from Castle would be better.

I played a custom campaign for Yelu Dashi that did an excellent job with designs for Jurchens, Khitans, Karakhanids, Seljuks, Karluks, and others. I think BlackKnight made the civs and level design.

Khitans UU was Ordo Cavalry (60 F 40 G). It can swap between a CA and Heavy Cavalry.

UT 1 was Ordo System. Ordo Cavalry heal when in melee form within 10 tiles of Castles.

UT2: Mounted Units receive 50% less bonus damage.

Here the Ordo Cavalry was strong in melee with 185 HP 11+4 attack and 3/6 armour. As a CA it was comparable to a Heavy CA.

I liked this design better because it gave more focus on the cavalry side and gave the Khitans a way to compete with Iron Pagodas from Jurchens as well as heavy cavalry encountered during the westward migration.

I am on Phase 3 and currently building a new factory above my starting base to hide my spaghetti conveyor belts and production set up. I love the look of the concrete foundations. On your first playthrough did you guys start spaghetti style like me or did you go for a clean build from the jump?

When launching a custom campaign mission occasionally the game gives me an error notification that says tampering detected and an open application may be interfering with the game? Why do custom campaigns sometimes crash the game like that?
