Do card game consultants exist?

I think my game hasn't been done before, but I always worry that lurking out there is a version that's been out there for years and I didn't know about it.

What methods are there to be sure your game hasn't been created before? Are there card game gurus out there? Or is launching a Kickstarter the best way to find out if its been done before?

My game is in prototyping stage with playtesting, and now a bit of fear is slipping in because I like playing the game and people are calling it fun.

The gameplay is based on some old-fashioned card games, but departs from them and I think I've added unique elements/twists but would like to be sure.

Thank you!

Card size advice

Just looking for opinions:

I have a card game that I designed and I initially created the cards as US game size deck: 2.2"×3.43" (56×87mm).

But now I'm looking at boxes and other materials and I'm wondering if that's too much of an odd size. Should I have gone with a Bridge size deck [2.25"×3.5" (57×89mm)]?

I think the smaller deck is easier (cards are easier to hold and fan out in hand). The design is fine on either deck.

Going a bit bigger (scaling up to Bridge) isn't too much of an issue, although I'd prefer to keep it at the smaller size. Thoughts? Thank you!

ETA/Update: Thanks everyone! I'm going with the poker 2.25"×3.5". I was able to tweak my design in the game card layout (manufacturer site). Took a bit of time but I think it'll be worth it to get a bit more space for a slightly larger design. Also, because the card game I've created has some similarities to regular card games, having a familiar card size is best (I mistakenly thought that the "US Card size" I prototyped was the "typical" size.)

Thanks everyone!
