Withdrawing donation pay from plasma prepaid cards is as painful as the rebate process
You know those stupid rebate scams electronic stores used to run? They’d promise you $50 back, make you pay full price upfront, then bury you in a rebate form with a million rules, fine print, and gotchas and like a 3 month delay designed so they could keep the money?
Getting “paid” by plasma companies feels exactly like that
You donate your plasma, you do everything right, and then they hit you with hidden fees at every single turn through the prepaid card issuers they force on you. It’s painfully obvious these companies are counting on donors NOT reading every word of the fine print so they can skim off the top. I can’t even keep track anymore of all the different ways they’ve found to slap me with some random fee out of nowhere.
They literally charge me a fee when the card gets declined even when I HAVE THE FUNDS. The card just randomly gets denied at stores or online for no reason, and I still get charged. I’m paying around $4–6 (now it was more in the past) every single month just to access my own damn money. This is wildly, disgustingly exploitative. Why are they so completely indifferent to donors getting ripped off right in front of their faces?
I tried reporting this shit to rip-off reporting sites, government agencies, the supposed “protectors” who’re supposed to watch out for exactly this kind of exploitation. I was basically told to fuck off by government regulators through their automated email system when your claim is ignored. Of course. Par for the course in this completely broken country.
BTW: I am in Portland Oregon area and use CSL Plasma and get paid with Paysign Inc. prepaid visa cards. If Satan made a prepaid card issuer company, it would be Paysign Inc.
Check the Trustpilot reviews for Paysign there are pages of them. They’re sitting at a 1.3/10 with 50+ bad reviews from people screaming about the exact same shit I’m dealing with. I get it, companies gotta make money, this is a corporation answering to shareholders and all that corporate bullshit. But there’s a damn line between making a profit and running an straight-up scam and they’ve crossed it. The worst part? There’s nobody to answer to for it. Donors are completely screwed.
