Combination skin girl needing help with pigmentation and body tan

Hi everyone, I’m new to skincare and I’d really appreciate some guidance in building a proper routine. I have combination skin and my main concerns are mild pigmentation around my mouth and upper eyelids, pigmented upper lips, very dry lips, and overall dull, tanned skin. I don’t really have acne or breakout issues.

Apart from my face, I also have body tanning, especially on my feet, and my heels are cracked and rough. My underarms, knees, elbows, and ankles are also quite dark, and I’d like to improve that too.

Since I’m completely new to skincare, I’m confused about where to start and what products or ingredients would actually help without damaging my skin. I’d really appreciate a simple beginner-friendly skincare and body care routine for:

  • Pigmentation around mouth and lips
  • Dry lips
  • Dull/tanned face
  • Body tan
  • Dark underarms, knees, elbows, and ankles
  • Cracked heels

Would love affordable and beginner-friendly suggestions if possible.

Already prepared for UPSC earlier, but now restarting preparation seriously for TNPSC

I honestly don’t have the energy to go through 6th–12th SCERTs + multiple standard books all over again 😭

So I wanted to ask people who cleared/prepared well:

  • How are you approaching current affairs now?
  • Which ONE academy/material is actually enough for concise coverage?
  • Any good compilation book/source instead of reading too many books?
  • Which PYQ book is worth following seriously for Prelims + Mains?
  • In these 3 months, what should be the main focus to build momentum again?

I’m doing self-study only. No coaching.
Trying to keep resources minimal this time instead of collecting 100 PDFs and burning out 💀

Would really appreciate practical suggestions from serious aspirants. Help panunga seniors

Hi everyone,

I’m starting Anthropology optional from scratch and wanted to know what resources people are actually following.

Looking for:

  • Core books (must-read, not everything under the sun)
  • Notes (coaching / topper notes worth following)
  • Answer writing + test series
  • Any good online sources / lectures

Trying to keep resources limited and revision-friendly, so would really appreciate if you could share what worked for you (especially recent mains experience).

Not looking for huge lists — just the most effective and practical resources.

Thanks!

  • Strong focus on answer writing + regular tests
  • Affordable
  • Course duration preferably within 6 months

Would really appreciate suggestions based on recent experience (2023–2025 aspirants).

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I’m currently preparing for UPSC and I’m really confused about choosing my optional subject. I’ve narrowed it down to Anthropology and Sociology, but I’m unable to make a clear decision.

Here’s my situation:

  • I don’t have an academic background in either subject
  • I’m looking for an optional that is scoring, manageable within limited time, and has a relatively concise syllabus
  • I also want something that overlaps well with GS papers and essay

From what I’ve heard:

  • Anthropology has a shorter syllabus and is considered more scoring, but may require diagrams and some science-related understanding
  • Sociology seems more abstract and theory-heavy, but has better overlap with GS and current affairs

My concerns:

  • Which subject is easier to complete and revise multiple times?
  • Which one has shown more stable scoring trends in recent years?
  • How difficult is answer writing in both optionals for someone starting from scratch?
  • Coaching vs self-study — which subject is more manageable without coaching?
  • If coaching is recommended, could you suggest good faculty (preferably online, affordable, and English-medium) who focus on answer writing and scoring?

If anyone has experience with either (or both), especially those who’ve written mains recently, I’d really appreciate honest and practical insights.

Not looking for generic “follow your interest” advice — I want real ground-level feedback.

Thanks in advance!
