Ortho-K on Long Haul Flight
Hello! I'll be traveling on my first long-haul flight to China, and I have a few concerns/questions about how to properly store my lenses, as I won't be wearing them during the flight itself
- I'll be placing the larger cleansing and soaking solution bottles in my checked baggage, but how should I properly store the lenses themselves? I was planning on using the pill-shaped bottle that's normally provided with the overnight soaking solution, and then putting it in either a Ziploc bag or an actual pill-bottle to prevent spillage. But I've also heard horror stories of the change in air pressure/temperature causing the lenses to stick to the case and break; is that a worry I should be concerned about?
- I've also heard that hydrogen peroxide isn't allowed in carry-on bags, but the soaking solution I'm currently using is 3% peroxide. Is that something I should declare at TSA, or would it be better to just put the lenses in a cleansing solution and wait until I arrive in China to change out the solutions?
- Is there anything in particular that I should keep note of and prepare before my flight, other than the two points listed above?
Thank you so much for the advice!
