Today is my last night I am not a member of this community.
Tomorrow i get my proctocolectomy. Wish me luck. I hope its not as bad as it seems.
Colectomy.
I was diagnosed 4 years ago with proctitis. Then i was relatively fine for 4 years with mesalamine. A month ago i fucked up took a double dose of mounjaro and have been in a severe flair since then. I am now a week into a hosptial stay with severe pancolitis. They have given me IV steroids for 6 days and a single dose of infliximab. I havent really improved much. The steroids help for a little while but not long. Like hours then the blood returns
The surgeon team is pushing more and more for colectomy saying me not getting better may necessitate it. I dont feel ready to give up my colon after a week of steroids. And a singular infusion of remicade being the only biologic i have ever had. Do you guys have stories similar where you were this bad and took some time to heal before reaching remission. What do i do hereb
