I have strange lines going across my burst photos?

These two photos came out of the same burst, the brighter orange color in the first photo is how the door should look. The dark band seems to move up. This is a recent occurrence but don’t recall changing any settings. This is on a eos r10 with sigma 17-40mm f/1.8

The ridiculously high ISO was me just demonstrating the issue as that is when it is most prevalent

Hello,
I’ve been looking to purchase a new zoom lens for my EOS R10.
As the title says I was wondering if sigma is still having issues with autofocus needing to be adjusted or updated. Has this been resolved? I was looking into either the 17-40mm f/1.8 RF sigma or the 18-50mm f/2.8 RF Sigma. Is it really worth about $300 to go to f/1.8?

While I’m here, are there any drawbacks to getting EF glass and just using the adapter ring?
