Theft

Attended my child’s field trip today and as we were walking on Christopher Dr in Galt, a car pulls up to the curb, a woman gets out of the vehicle and literally with zero shame, rips this other parents necklace right off of her neck! The thief jumps back in the passenger’s seat and the car speeds off. In front of a group of children. Classy. Is this what Cambridge had become? How do we explain this to our children? The audacity of some people. Just gobsmacked.

Career change or more AQs

I’m currently a P/J teacher and I do get LTOs (teaching 4 years) but I also have been supplying more this year then the last 4 years combined. Supplying is so unfulfilling for me and truthfully, I just feel like a warm body. I’m coming up on that 5 year mark and I hear this is when teachers start to get a little squirrely. Is it worth taking more A/Qs so that I can potentially apply for intermediate and high school? Or should I be thinking about something completely different. Supplying has been so scarce this year, I had to pick up another part time job just to keep me a float. Why is it so hard to get permanent and how much ass do I have to kiss to get there? Signed one exhausted teacher/human being.

Hey everyone, I’m a daily occasional currently, and would love a permanent spot. I’ve been supplying and doing LTOs for 4 years now. Supplying wasn’t so bad the first couple of years but this year has been the hardest to find work. I’m curious what other OTs are doing to either supplement income or get work with their board? My board isn’t supposed to have preferential call lists but that has become thing now at so many schools, so I think many get on these ‘short lists’ and the rest of us are out to lunch.
