Hi all, hope I can ask here. I have a photograph of my 4x great grandfather (1812-1897) in uniform and I've not been able to identify it yet. I haven't been able to find his military records either, but he lived in Hampshire, if that narrows it down!

Live in England and inherited this from grandmother. I recognise the purity mark, but I don't recognise the other two. One appears to be a bell and the other reads 4992. Any ideas would be appreciated, thank you! Also attached a photo of the ring. Hoping to find out the approximate age.
